ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AN ORATOR?
If you a run an event, or you want to inspire your team, you might be looking for a ‘orator’ which is simply a posh word for a public speaker. It makes the art of public speaking feel more grand, eloquent and speaks of the skill of actually speaking.
Public speaking is a skill. It doesn’t come naturally to everyone and even the most skilled orators started out somewhere, probably in their own communities doing something small, possibly even speaking at school.
Some of the great orators in history are said to include Martin Luther King, Maya Angelou, Winston Churchill and many more. Some great orators are associated with some of history’s darkest moments too. For me, the sign of a good and great speakers are the number of quotations plucked from their talks which then become part of language, you see them decked out on greetings cards or on social media. I often have wondered if William Shakespeare was a good orator, or simply a genuis speech writer for the actors who brought his plays to life.
In more modern times, there have been orators such as Barack Obama, Tony Robbins, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and many others.
