FEAR — the biggest risk of Covid19
Yesterday I had one of those moments where I became ‘the Covid pariah’ (I’ve written about this before) when a small, pretty insignificant scenario played out which demonstrated to me one of the most damaging legacy of the horror of this damned pandemic.
On the day which marked a year since the World Health Organisation officially announced that we were in the midst of a global pandemic — I was walking home from having dropped my car off for a service and MOT at a local garage.
In the UK we’ve had three lockdowns and a year of not being able to hug, shakes hands or brush shoulders with other human beings not within our bubble. We’ve had to wear masks since the end of July 2020 and most of us now have about ten in the pocket of every coat or within every handbag.
Here the death toll is well over 125,000 though our vaccine roll out has been superb — our government has stuffed up almost everything else around this awful time.
Over time though the other legacies will become apparent and I believe one of those will be fear, especially around human contact. It’s playing out in homes and streets across the land.
