We have so many choices in 2021 — are you chosing hope or something else?

We have choices to make in 2021 — what will your choices be…

I’m not a fan of new year resolutions, in fact I make it my mission in life not to make any at all. Why? It rarely works to do this because big life decisions should not rest on the passage of a single day.

For me it’s more about intentions, perhaps goals, or ‘things’ I’d like to experience more of, people I’d like to spend more time with, personal decisions around how I view the world and also, occasionally, more tricky decisions about walking away from those who disrupt my peace or joy. What about you?

For most of us 2020 was an awful year. Worldwide there will be thousands of people who lost loved ones unexpectedly due to Covid19 or other health factors. We couldn’t see each other very much in the UK and that was and continues to be very sad. It was also a year of division and that’s right down to a local level as the ‘lockdown’ police in every community came out to watch each other. FFS. What’s that all about?

In my own family I’ve been lucky so far. No close family members have had Covid19, a few have tested negative and we’ve stayed well, if locked down and shut down. I’m very proud of my family for its resilience, common sense and for every one’s sense of ‘getting on’ as best we can.
